Bac Kan: A person suspected of falling into a sinkhole in Na Ri district

NDO - At around 9pm on July 26, a motorbike accident occurred at a sinkhole in Na Ri district, Bac Kan. It is currently suspected that both the person and the motorbike fell into the sinkhole filled with water and are missing.

Confirming with reporters, Vice Chairman of the Na Ri District People's Committee Luong Thanh Loc said that the cause of the accident was suspected to be due to a motorcyclist driving at high speed, not paying attention, crashing into the area that was fenced off and warned of danger at the location of a large sinkhole in the middle of the median strip of National Highway 3B, through Hiep Luc village, Kim Lu commune.

According to information from local residents, it is possible that people and vehicles plunged into the sinkhole.

After receiving the information, that same night, Na Ri district directed the authorities to urgently organize search and rescue.

More than 3 hours of searching but no results because the force did not have specialized equipment. On the other hand, the sinkhole is very deep, there is a possibility of underground water caves that are dangerous and unsafe.

Na Ri district reported to the province for support, and at the same time directed to fence and assign security guards to the area where the incident occurred.

On the morning of May 27, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police and Search and Rescue Force ( Bac Kan Provincial Police) went to assist in the search.

It is known that the development of sinkholes in Kim Lu commune, Na Ri district in the past few months has tended to be complicated, increasing in the number of sinkholes, affecting production and people's safety.

Currently, Bac Kan province and the relevant authorities have not yet determined the cause of this situation.
