More than 1,200 athletes run on the road named after General Vo Nguyen Giap in Dien Bien

NDO - On May 26, in Dien Bien Phu city, the Vietnam Olympic Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien coordinated to organize the Children's Olympic Day 2025.

Participating in the festival were more than 1,200 cadres, teachers, athletes, students from middle schools, high schools and youth union members in Dien Bien Phu city... who ran about 2km together on the road named after General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Joining the crowd, Ngo Tuong Minh (8th grade student, Muong Thanh Secondary School, Dien Bien Phu City) excitedly said: "I feel very energetic and excited because not only my friends but also my teachers and seniors cheer me on enthusiastically. Running on the road named after General Vo Nguyen Giap, a very convenient route with a strong historical mark, is a wonderful experience during my summer vacation."

Dien Bien students enthusiastically participated in the run during the first Children's Olympic Day held in Dien Bien.

Mr. Tran Van Manh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Olympic Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared a meaningful message from the International Olympic Committee: When we practice sports , it not only helps our bodies and minds to be healthy and strong, but also inspires us to always try our best. Sports help us dream, spread joy and bring people closer together.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien also affirmed that the 2025 Children's Olympic Day will encourage the movement of physical exercise in schools and communities in Dien Bien. Thereby, helping students imbue them with the value of the Olympic sports movement.

Within the framework of the festival, the Organizing Committee also organized many activities, such as: learning about the international and Vietnamese Olympic movement, competitions and performances of stick pushing, tug of war, modern dance, etc.

High school students in Dien Bien Phu city are extremely excited to participate in activities in the Children's Olympic program in Dien Bien.

Children's Olympic Day 2025 is a practical activity to achieve achievements to celebrate major holidays of the country and the province, responding to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

This is also a meaningful activity to celebrate the 131st anniversary of the International Olympic Committee (June 23) and Vietnam Sports Day (March 27).
