Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Binh presented the decision of the Department of Health assigning specialist doctor II Nguyen Tuong Quang, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat General Hospital, to be in charge of operating the activities of Thong Nhat General Hospital from July 1, 2025 until the Director of the Department of Health makes a decision on other personnel work.

At the same time, the Department of Health issued a decision appointing specialist I Lam Hung Hanh, Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning, to the position of Deputy Director of Thong Nhat General Hospital. The appointment period is 5 years, starting from July 1, 2025.

Previously, Thong Nhat General Hospital held a farewell ceremony to honor specialist doctor Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, Deputy Director in charge of Thong Nhat General Hospital, who retired from July 1, 2025.

Speaking on accepting the assignment, specialist doctor II Nguyen Tuong Quang thanked the Board of Directors of the Department of Health for their trust and the trust of the hospital staff. At the same time, he said that he will work with the Board of Directors of the hospital to unite and constantly improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, and serve patients. Doctor Nguyen Tuong Quang hopes to continue to receive the attention and support of the leaders of the Department of Health in the future.

Thong Nhat General Hospital is one of the two provincial level I hospitals, classified as a specialized hospital. The hospital currently has nearly 1,400 staff, employees, and workers with 47 departments and rooms. Every day, the hospital receives and examines and treats outpatients from 1,500 to 2,000 patients; inpatients treat 700 to 800 patients per day.

In recent times, the hospital has implemented many new and advanced techniques, improving skills and attitudes in serving patients. Thereby, it has created trust among patients in the province and neighboring localities.
