Northern and Central regions heat up to over 40 degrees

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, within 2 days (May 17-18), the Northern region will have hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature of 36-38 degrees, some places will be over 39 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 45-55%; the hot weather will be concentrated from 11am to 5pm.

In the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, the heat is still extremely severe with temperatures ranging from 37-39 degrees Celsius, in some places above 40 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is 40-50%; the heat is mainly from 10am-6pm. The severe heat in this area is likely to last until around May 23.

In the North, on May 19, the heat is likely to ease, but from May 20-23 it will increase again. Meteorological experts especially note that the temperature forecast in the heat bulletin and the actual feeling outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even higher depending on the conditions of the buffer surface such as concrete and asphalt. In addition, the Central Highlands and the South will continue to have heat, but it will gradually ease when thunderstorms appear in the evening.
