Selling frozen food of unknown origin, a household was fined 50 million VND

On March 23, the Market Management Department of Dak Lak province announced that it had just issued a decision to impose an administrative fine of VND50 million on the business household NTT (located on 19 Thang 5 Street, Ea Tam Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak) for trading in food of unknown origin and forced the destruction of all violating goods.

Market management forces check the number of violating goods at NTT household

Previously, on March 12, Market Management Team No. 1 of the Provincial Market Management Department inspected the NTT business household on 19/5 Street and discovered that this household was selling a total of 505 kg of frozen food, including: 75 kg of steamed mackerel, 55 kg of squid rolls, 65 kg of anchovies, 65 kg of hairtail fish, 155 kg of octopus tentacles, and 90 kg of chicken pearls.

All of the above food items had no labels, were of unknown origin, and had a foul odor. The business owner could not present invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods. The amount of food items listed as illegal items at the above business was worth 53.4 million VND.
