Igniting love and aspiration for the development of the Capital City.

Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the whole country focusing on the capital, the exhibition "Hanoi: Development - Innovation - Integration" opened at the Hanoi City Information and Exhibition Center, organized by the Hanoi Journalists Association in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Hanoi Art Photography Association, and the Press Photography Club ( Vietnam Journalists Association ). This is one of many events organized by the Hanoi Journalists Association to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

Sharing about the positive activities in recent days, journalist To Quang Phan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Citizen and Education Promotion Magazine, and Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association, said: “Besides the propaganda plan that the Association and press agencies in the area have implemented in recent days, the Hanoi Journalists Association has also organized many diverse events, including the exhibition “Hanoi Development - Innovation - Integration,” which is a meaningful cultural and artistic activity for journalists and photographers, taking place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, with 70 works. This is also an opportunity to promote and introduce beautiful, artistic images to the public, contributing to building a culture and people of Hanoi that are elegant, civilized, worthy of the title of a thousand-year-old capital, a City for Peace , and a Creative City.”

Journalist To Quang Phan also added that, in recent times, the Hanoi Journalists Association and the capital's media agencies have organized a series of commemorative events, with the Hanoi Journalists Association presiding over and hosting several annual programs associated with important national and capital city anniversaries.

A highlight was the "Back to the Roots" event held to commemorate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024), which brought together 50 officials and reporters from various branches and chapters to visit the exhibition house – the birthplace of the Vietnam Journalists Association – in Roong Khoa hamlet, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province. This event held significant practical meaning, contributing to the education of traditions for generations of journalists, reporters, and members, encouraging them to strive and compete to successfully complete their assigned tasks. The Association also hosted and chaired the inter-communal meeting of the Journalists Associations of provinces and cities along Highway 6, including Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, and Lai Chau. This inter-communal meeting was held concurrently with a professional workshop on the topic "Journalism Economics in the New Era".

The Association also organized the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the 2024 journalism competition in the cluster of Journalists' Associations of provinces and cities along Highway 6, with the theme "Thang Long - Hanoi Culture: Convergence and Dissemination". To implement the plan of this competition, the Hanoi Journalists' Association coordinated with the Associations in the cluster to organize trips for 50 reporters from 4 Associations to write articles on the development and preservation of culture and tourism in the capital city. The Association also coordinated and collaborated with city departments and agencies, historical and cultural relic complexes, tourism sites, and some districts and counties to provide reporters from the 4 provinces with opportunities to access many aspects, exploit rich materials and documents, and create works for the competition.

The competition has fostered the role and responsibility of the staff, reporters, and journalist members of Hanoi's press agencies and the Journalists' Associations of the provinces in the Emulation Cluster, arousing the cultural values and resources of Thang Long - Hanoi; at the same time, it is an opportunity to commend and reward authors and groups of authors with outstanding journalistic works, creating a ripple effect and contributing to improving the quality of journalistic works of press agencies in the Emulation Cluster.

In addition, the Hanoi Journalists Association continued to organize the 29th Expanded Sports Festival. This cultural and sports activity attracted hundreds of athletes from several Journalists Associations, press management agencies, branches and chapters of journalists from central press agencies, ministries and departments in the area, and Hanoi's press.

It can be said that the events organized by the Hanoi Journalists Association recently have contributed to the vibrant emulation spirit of journalists nationwide and will be a driving force for members and media agencies in the capital to continue to develop and achieve many accomplishments in the future, practically commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). “We hope that the series of activities of the Association together with media agencies in the area during these days will create meaningful and practical contributions to awakening love and aspirations for the development of the capital, building a capital that is “Cultural - Civilized - Modern” ,” journalist To Quang Phan emphasized.

More pride, more responsibility towards the Capital City.

Based on the city's plan and the guidance of the Hanoi Journalists Association, Hanoi's media outlets have developed specific plans for publicizing activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi. The propaganda work for the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi began in early 2024, with a peak period in September and October 2024… and was actively organized by various media outlets.

Sharing the newspaper's propaganda strategy for this occasion, journalist Nguyen Manh Hung - Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper - said that journalists in Hanoi in general and Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper in particular have been actively following general activities, disseminating information about the great historical significance and value of the Liberation Day of Hanoi, educating about patriotic traditions, revolutionary heroism, the spirit of "fighting to the death for the Fatherland," and the bravery and resilience of the army and people of the whole country and Hanoi in the resistance war for national independence and reunification.

From there, we encourage and motivate cadres, Party members, and the people to accelerate industrialization and modernization, build Hanoi into a comprehensively and sustainably developed capital city; strive to overcome difficulties, successfully complete the political goals and tasks in 2024, compete to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the great national holidays, and resolutely implement the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party…

In addition, the Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper also shared that, with a dynamic and proactive spirit, the newspaper has been organizing many meaningful events that not only contribute to general propaganda activities but also help affirm the newspaper's prestige in social life.

The newspaper's vibrant, practical, effective, and compliant activities, with a clear focus and profound educational value, have been implemented for months. Notable among them are the programs "Hanoi Days in Dien Bien" and "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City," where the Tuoi Tre Thu Do newspaper and the Hanoi Youth Union awarded 30 scholarships (3 million VND each) to disadvantaged students in Ho Chi Minh City. This activity demonstrates a spirit of sharing and responsibility in caring for the younger generation – the generation that will shape the future of the country – thereby leaving a lasting mark on Hanoi's thousand-year-old cultural heritage in the hearts of the people of the city named after President Ho Chi Minh.

Recently, the seminar and exchange program with historical witnesses titled "Continuing the Tradition - Stepping Towards the Future" and the 11th Youth Badminton Tournament for the Tuoi Tre Thu Do Newspaper Cup in 2024, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024)... have all created distinctive impressions and attracted public attention.

“All activities aim to recall the glorious memories, the extremely heroic and glorious historical period of Hanoi; contributing to the education of revolutionary traditions and fostering noble ideals for today's young generation to confidently build and develop the capital. Seventy years ago, in that historic autumn, the people of Hanoi lived in a heroic atmosphere, welcoming the victorious army returning and taking over the capital.”

On October 10, 1954, Hanoi was liberated, becoming a glorious milestone in the proud and illustrious history of the capital city and the entire country. Today, 70 years later, the stories and images of old Hanoi, of the resilient, indomitable, and incredibly heroic generation of our forefathers, have left us with many emotions; from them, we feel even more proud and love Hanoi, this sacred land, imbued with the soul of the mountains and rivers of a thousand years…” – journalist Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized.
