Currently, Lao Cai province has 71 hydropower plants with a total capacity of more than 1,165MW generating electricity on the 110kV and medium voltage grids managed by PC Lao Cai. The total hydropower output to the Lao Cai grid in 2024 will reach more than 3.53 billion kWh, of which the 110kV grid accounts for more than 3.1 billion kWh. In the first 4 months of 2025, the output will reach more than 426 million kWh.
However, the challenge is not small when in 2024, 22 incidents of 110kV power grids under customer management were recorded, an increase of 9 incidents compared to 2023. The main causes were atmospheric overvoltage (accounting for 73%), equipment operating for a long time and deteriorating in quality, and violations of the line corridor.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of PC Lao Cai emphasized the spirit of learning and wished that factories would review and improve the coordination of operations: Equipment maintenance and repair is not only to ensure system safety but also a practical benefit of factories, helping to ensure revenue and income of workers.
