According to the Department of Health, in the first 9 months of 2025, Dong Nai detected 353 new cases of HIV infection. Currently, the province has about 9,300 people infected with HIV/AIDS, the number of people still living in the area is more than 8,300. Dong Nai is actively "digitalizing" intervention measures, bringing HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis and self-testing to online platforms for access. In particular, the end of some projects of non-governmental organizations has greatly affected PrEP treatment (HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis).

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Luu Van Dung said: Dong Nai health sector is making efforts to find solutions to maintain achievements and aim to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030. In particular, it will gradually switch to health insurance payment funds and the provincial budget will pay a part for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. With over 95% of HIV-infected people in Dong Nai receiving treatment drugs from the health insurance fund, the health sector will advise on solutions to maintain this in the coming time, not to let patients have interruptions in treatment.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health Luu Van Dung also emphasized the need to promote the provision of comprehensive services on HIV/AIDS prevention and control: prevention coverage, early detection, timely treatment of HIV/AIDS and promoting participation in health insurance for people living with HIV towards increasing access to HIV/AIDS prevention and control services for the people. At the same time, reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, people affected by HIV/AIDS and people with high-risk behaviors for HIV infection; increase family and social support for people living with HIV, creating conditions for people living with HIV and their family members to participate in HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities.
