Arrested 'female monster' who swindled nearly 8 billion VND with the trick of 'bank maturity'

On December 29, the Ninh Thuan Provincial Police Department issued decisions to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Hoai Phi (38 years old, residing in Thanh Son ward, Phan Rang - Thap Cham city) for 4 months to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.

According to the investigation agency, in May 2021, through the acquaintance and taking advantage of the trust of Ms. D.NT (residing in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City), Phi mortgaged his red book to borrow 5 billion VND from Ms. T. The purpose was to "invest in projects, repay the bank's debt" that Phi himself outlined.

Next, Phi promised to help Ms. LTL (residing in Ninh Phuoc district) with the procedures for land division. Specifically, Phi asked Ms. L to transfer more than 3 hectares of land to him to facilitate the procedures for land division, and promised to transfer the land to Ms. L once the procedure was completed.

However, after Ms. L transferred 3 hectares of land, Phi transferred it to Ms. T. to pay off the debt of 5 billion VND.

Phi also admitted to “working part-time to pay off bank debts” and “knowing many people working in the bank” so he could give commissions to his relatives. Trusting Phi, Ms. HTL (residing in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) lent Phi 2.19 billion VND. But when the payment deadline came, Phi found many reasons to avoid the debt.

With the above trick, Phi also defrauded another person of more than 63 million VND. Phi also borrowed 640 million VND from the bank.
