After days of trying to stabilize their lives after storm No. 3, Ly Thi Hoa’s family and many people in Quang Kim commune have just gone through a long night of running away from the flood. The water level of Ngoi San stream rose, making everyone helpless as they watched their production results sink into the sea of water.

People's achievements in production are submerged in water.

Ms. Ly Thi Hoa, Lang Quang village, Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district, shed tears: "The snail pond was also washed away, the banks were eroded, nothing has been fixed yet. After the flood, I managed to sow quite a few vegetables, then this happened. Overall, I am very sad."

Mr. Vang A Trung, Lang Quang village, Quang Kim commune, Bat Xat district shared: "If the flood is so great, how can we make it? It's not certain that it will be stable. If the water keeps rising like this, who knows when it will recede. The water is rising so fast that people can't even run away."

Heavy rain on the night of September 30 and early morning of October 1 caused localized flooding in Quang Kim commune. According to local statistics, more than 30 houses were flooded, 43 hectares of rice and crops were affected, including 10 hectares of corn that had just been replanted after storm No. 3.

Heavy rain flooded people's houses and crops.

Mr. Vu Van Son, Vice Chairman of Quang Kim Commune People's Committee, Bat Xat District, said: "Some areas that have been plowed again have been completely buried. The commune has also inspected all villages and households at the foot of the steep slope, warning people about the danger. The complicated weather has made the local authorities very worried."

In addition to Quang Kim commune, heavy rain also affected some houses in Ban Vuoc commune, causing landslides at some points on Provincial Road 155 and district roads, rural roads in Bat Xat. Communes and towns in the district urgently reviewed and organized the evacuation of about 1,300 people to safe places. At the same time, the "4 on-site" force was mobilized to support households in overcoming the consequences of floods and storms, and machinery was mobilized to overcome landslides on the roads.
