According to CNN's most recent national poll ahead of the November 5 US presidential election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Kamala Harris both have a support rate of 47% among likely voters.

The poll, conducted by telephone from October 20 to 23 among 1,704 registered voters and released on October 25, has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points among likely voters and plus or minus 3.2 percentage points among registered voters.
Now, not just in the CNN poll, a series of other polls show the race is in a stalemate. Vice President Kamala Harris has not been able to break through in the race to the White House. Since October 1, the advantage seems to be tilting slightly towards Mr. Trump, although it is not really clear. Observers say that in the early days of the election, Ms. Harris often portrayed herself as the "underdog" to former President Donald Trump. This argument was one of the ways she encouraged voters to vote for her. But three months later, with the election very close, the Democratic candidate's top advisers and allies are worried that this may still be true. In the so-called "blue wall" states - Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which are still considered the most suitable path for Ms. Harris to victory, public polls show the race is still basically even, with surveys only differing by an average of one or two percentage points, within the margin of error. Democrats are also trying to capitalize on Harris’s strength with women, hoping to push white women who care about abortion rights to the polls. The vice president appears to be popular with women, but she has clear problems with men, including black men and working-class white men. Meanwhile, Trump is rated higher than Harris on economic policy. The Republican candidate is also actively reaching out to male voters, a group that plays an important role in the outcome of the race. In the latest news related to the US presidential election, the prestigious and long-standing Washington Post newspaper announced on October 25 that it would not support Democratic candidate Kamala Harris or Republican candidate Donald Trump in the election. The CEO of this media organization, William Lewis, said this was a return “to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.”
