On the afternoon of June 3, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a closing ceremony for a class teaching traditional decorative patterns on handmade pottery of the M'nong people in Yang Tao commune, Lak district.

The class teaching traditional decorative patterns on handmade pottery of the M'nong people opened at the end of April 2025, with 20 students participating, including artisans and local people.

During the course, students were taught basic knowledge and techniques on how to create patterns on paper, on the flat surface of ceramic materials and on finished ceramic products. Most of the patterns are associated with familiar images, close to the daily life of the M'nong people such as animals, trees and people.

The class is a practical activity in the work of preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage, helping local people, especially the young generation, understand and love the pottery craft more, contributing to preserving a part of the cultural soul of the M'nong people. From there, build a foundation to develop craft villages, associated with community cultural tourism , creating sustainable livelihoods for local people.

After the class, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested agencies, units and localities to continue to pay attention, support and create conditions to replicate this model, contributing to preserving and promoting the unique cultural values ​​of the M'nong ethnic group in particular and the Central Highlands ethnic groups in general.

At the same time, we hope that the students will continue to practice and promote the knowledge and skills they have learned, contributing to preserving and developing the traditional pottery craft of the M'nong people - a valuable cultural heritage of the local M'nong people.
