According to the National Children's Hospital, after nearly 2 weeks of treatment, MTA (4 years old, from Nam Dinh ), who was run over by a homemade tricycle, was discharged from the hospital and returned home.
On the afternoon of May 15, a representative of the National Children's Hospital said that the child's health is currently stable and he has stopped using any medication.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 3, a boy was run over by a homemade tricycle, causing a closed abdominal injury. He was taken to the Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital by passersby for emergency treatment. After examination, testing, and CT scan evaluation, on the evening of May 3, the boy was transferred to the National Children's Hospital.

Here, the doctor diagnosed the baby with a torn left diaphragm causing hernia of the stomach and intestines into the chest, grade 3 kidney injury, small intestine contusion, and a poor prognosis.
The baby was quickly resuscitated and underwent surgery to reconstruct the diaphragm, preserve the left kidney, remove the bruised intestine, and perform end-to-end intestinal anastomosis, all on the same night. Thanks to timely intervention and intensive care, the baby's health improved and he was discharged from the hospital.
During the treatment of the child, the National Children's Hospital did not call for support for treatment costs from benefactors and the community, because 100% of the child's treatment costs were covered by the Health Insurance Fund (HI). The total treatment cost for the child was more than 22 million VND, fully covered by the HI.
However, benefactors still donated more than 171 million VND through the Social Work Department. The entire amount was handed over by the hospital to the child's family for management and use.
Previously, on the evening of May 3, a 2-minute clip was circulated on social media about the incident that allegedly occurred at Nam Dinh General Hospital. According to the person who brought TA to the hospital, the child was not given timely emergency care because he had not paid enough money.
After that, the Ministry of Health directed the Nam Dinh Provincial Health Department to clarify the emergency treatment process. Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital temporarily suspended 3 doctors and 2 nurses to verify and clarify the incident.
