Provincial General Hospital staff give gifts to patients and their families at the "Zero-VND Booth - Connecting Love".
On March 25, 2025, in the warm atmosphere of the 9th anniversary of Vietnam Social Work Day, the Provincial General Hospital organized the program "Zero-dong booth - Connecting love". This is one of the outstanding activities demonstrating the spirit of sharing and humanity, while affirming the role of social work in improving the quality of patient care. The program was attended by many delegates and volunteer clubs such as: Hoa Binh City Red Cross Society; My Duc Love Cooperative; Heart Connection Club; Blue Shirt Club; Joining hands to support patients with artificial kidney; Head of the Volunteer Haircut Club.
With a scale of 850 beds, the provincial General Hospital receives about 1,000 outpatients and an equivalent number of inpatients every day. Among them, many patients are in difficult circumstances, seriously ill, and patients under social protection. Faced with this situation, the "Zero-dong booth" program was born as a humane support, helping patients not only receive medical treatment but also receive spiritual and life care. This year's booth is organized with the theme "Connecting love", a bridge between kind hearts and disadvantaged circumstances. More than 4,000 essential items have been carefully prepared, from instant noodles, cooking oil, milk, towels, soap to clothes, books, etc. All are neatly displayed, ready to serve patients and their families. People in difficult circumstances will be given free shopping vouchers, each voucher can choose 12 essential items at the booths.
Many patients were touched when receiving gifts, Mr. Bui Van Quy, 59 years old, Vinh Dong commune (Kim Boi) shared: I have been treated here for nearly a month, never felt lonely because everyone always cared for me like family. Today, with more practical gifts, I feel very happy to have more motivation to overcome difficulties and illness.
Sharing at the program, Mr. Nguyen Hong Manh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of My Duc Charity Cooperative said: We do not do anything big, but we hope that each small gift will be a word of encouragement, a hope for patients to continue to persevere in treatment to soon return to their families.
A highlight this year was the donation of artificial kidney dialysis machines and gifts to dialysis patients in difficult circumstances, which took place in mid-April in coordination between the provincial General Hospital and the philanthropists of Luong Son Real Estate Group. The value of the dialysis machine, VND370 million, is a meaningful gift in the context of increasing demand for kidney treatment, especially in mountainous provinces such as Hoa Binh.
Comrade Nguyen Tuyet Nhung, Head of the Social Work Department (Provincial General Hospital) said: In 2024, the Social Work Department raised more than 1.3 billion VND to support disadvantaged patients. Nearly 9,770 free meals, hundreds of gifts, free haircuts, book donations, Mid-Autumn Festival, Children's Day... Charity organizations such as the Heart Connection Club, Charity Haircut, Blue Shirt... have contributed materially and directly participated in supporting patients, creating a medical environment full of humanity. In the coming time, the Provincial General Hospital will continue to call for the community's support to expand volunteer activities, help patients in difficult circumstances to come for examination and treatment, contributing to improving patient satisfaction.
