On May 26, Military Hospital 175 (Ministry of National Defense) held a ceremony to celebrate its 50th anniversary (May 26, 1975 - May 26, 2025) and receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal, while also inaugurating a 1,000-bed building and a parking garage.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San - Deputy Minister of National Defense - said that Military Hospital 175 has gone through 50 years of striving, building and growing.

The hospital's officers, staff and soldiers have always inherited and promoted the fine traditions of the heroic People's Army, the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, solidarity, creativity, overcoming all difficulties and hardships, and excellently completing assigned tasks.

During the renovation period, the hospital has made great strides in treatment and scientific research.

With the function of being a final-level general hospital, the Southern military medical center of the Ministry of National Defense, the hospital must constantly strive to take care of the health of high-ranking officials of the Party, State, army, officers, soldiers, and people, and coordinate emergency aid for soldiers and civilians on islands...

The Deputy Minister of National Defense requested Military Hospital 175 to continue building a team of cadres, doctors, and workers with expertise and good skills, and to build a healthy cultural environment.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet - Director of Military Hospital 175 - shared that the hospital's 50-year tradition will become a source of motivation for officers and employees to continue to strive and excellently complete assigned tasks under any circumstances.

At the same time, in the future, the entire hospital will continue to research, improve professional qualifications, overcome difficulties, and soon turn the hospital into a multi-functional, specialized, modern military medical complex of regional and international stature.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet added that the 1,000-bed general hospital and the parking garage of Military Hospital 175 were invested and built in 2016 with a construction investment of VND 2,500 billion, designed with 1 basement and 9 floors.

The project is arranged with a system of 47 clinics of departments, offices, centers, and centralized institutes, with 18 modern operating rooms, 1 emergency operating room, 3 eye operating rooms, and 3 Daycare operating rooms (during the day) in a continuous manner... contributing effectively to reducing the burden on the city's healthcare system and neighboring areas.

In addition, the building has a helipad connected to an elevator that takes patients straight to the emergency department and intensive care unit in the shortest time.

The hospital has become the first and only medical facility in Vietnam with two helipads, contributing to improving emergency response, disaster prevention, natural disaster prevention, emergency situations and effective medical care for the community.

When put into operation, the 1,000-bed building will be able to examine 5,000 - 6,000 patients, treat 1,800 - 2,000 inpatients per day, and ensure the reception and emergency care of up to 300 patients per day. This is one of 50 projects that will change the face of the city by 2025.

In addition, the basement parking lot with an area of ^8,400m2 , can accommodate nearly 1,000 motorbikes and 600 cars. This area can be deployed as a field hospital, emergency area, treatment beds, ensuring evacuation and isolation plans, ready to respond to natural disasters, catastrophes and medical emergencies.
