Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai received a delegation of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City.

This afternoon (March 21), at the Conference Hall of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai had a cordial meeting with a working delegation of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City led by Journalist Tran Trong Dung, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association (in charge of the South).

Accompanying him were comrade Ngo Minh Chau, member of the City Party Committee, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, leaders of a number of agencies, departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association; central press agencies in the city, more than 20 newspapers and magazines in Ho Chi Minh City and resident reporters in Ca Mau province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan discussed with the delegation about the socio-economic development situation of Ca Mau province.

During the working trip to Ca Mau province, the delegation of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City provided professional support to press agencies, journalists, and reporters in the province and social security activities for the poor and disadvantaged students in Ca Mau province, with a total value of nearly 4 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting with leaders of press agencies, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, informed about the effectiveness of propaganda work of press agencies inside and outside the province about the province's activities in the past year.

Journalist Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association (in charge of the South) expressed his opinions, gave suggestions, and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of information and propaganda work in the political, economic, cultural, and social fields of Ca Mau province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan emphasized: In 2024, 54 newspapers and magazines outside the province signed cooperation agreements with Ca Mau province; the competent authorities compiled over 15,000 news and articles about Ca Mau, including more than 60 television reports. Many agencies and units exceeded the number of news and articles signed in the contract, especially press agencies with representative offices or assigned permanent reporters in Ca Mau.

2025 is a year of special significance. Ca Mau, together with the whole country, is implementing Resolution 18/NQ-TW on streamlining the apparatus and organization; Directive 35/CT-TW on Party Congresses at all levels; Conclusion 123/KL-TW on striving to achieve the growth target of 8% or more; Resolution 57/NQ-TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, creativity and digital transformation... The province is focusing on directing key projects.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan hopes that the press agencies will continue to support, accompany and contribute to helping the local Party Committee and government achieve the set goals and targets.

Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai symbolically received 1/3,000 flags of the program "Proud of the National Flag" for fishermen at sea and the program "National Flag Road" from Mr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.

During this working trip, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation supported Ca Mau with many meaningful and practical projects and tasks, such as: presenting the national flag in the program "Proud of the National Flag"; supporting in-depth training in journalism skills; donating library equipment, upgrading school toilets, granting scholarships and bicycles to students; building rural traffic bridges and housing; supporting clean water for daily life, supporting interest-free capital, etc. The total value of the projects is about 4 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, awarded 25 Nguyen Thai Binh scholarships (each worth 2 million VND) to 25 students in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association (in charge of the South) presented a symbolic plaque of funding for organizing an intensive training course on modern journalism skills for reporters and editors of newspapers and radio stations in Ca Mau province to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province.

Ms. Ly Viet Trung, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper, presented 18 toilets to 3 schools, with a total cost of 1.08 billion VND; awarded preferential interest-free credit worth 300 million VND to women in difficult circumstances sponsored by Bac A Bank and a medical examination and treatment program for 500 people implemented by Nguyen Van Thinh Hospital, Thu Duc City in coordination with Bac A Bank.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan respectfully thanked and remembered the valuable attention of the working delegation to the province, especially the affection for rural people, disadvantaged families and students.

The meeting with press agencies aims to strengthen the friendly cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Ca Mau province; is both an opportunity for the province to exchange and expand cooperative relations, and an opportunity for Ca Mau province to introduce its potential and strengths, thereby expressing the hope that press agencies will support the propaganda of the goals and results of implementing the province's political tasks; patriotic emulation movements, discovering, encouraging and praising positive factors, typical advanced models in the field of socio-economic development in the locality.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan presented souvenirs as thanks to the delegates.

At the meeting, leaders of many press agencies expressed their opinions, gave suggestions, made recommendations, and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of information and propaganda work in the political, economic, cultural, and social fields of the province such as: promoting communication before, during, and after Party congresses at all levels, activities to celebrate major holidays, economic, cultural, and social achievements, and policy communication, contributing to removing difficulties, obstacles, and bottlenecks of the locality, helping Ca Mau develop further in the coming time.
