
On the morning of May 14, in Nghi Thuy ward (Vinh city), Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper coordinated with Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to organize the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen".
Attending were comrade Nguyen Thai Binh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Head of the Program Organizing Committee.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Border Guard Command, Vinh City People's Committee and a large number of people.


The program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" was organized by Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper from the beginning of 2023; taking place in 28 coastal provinces and cities across the country; with a total implementation cost of more than 30 billion VND. The program is organized to support, encourage, and accompany fishermen; work closely with the Government and local authorities to find solutions to remove the "yellow card" for Vietnam's seafood industry...

Nghe An province is the 22nd coastal locality where Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper has organized the program “Lighting up the sea with fishermen”. Through 21 previous provinces and cities, the program has organized many propaganda activities for fishermen to understand and apply the law in legal fishing, contributing to removing the IUU yellow card, promoting the development of fishermen’s lives and developing the marine economy.

In addition, the program has mobilized social resources to carry out social security activities to encourage and support fishermen to stay at sea to make a living. The program has presented more than 3,700 gifts to outstanding fishermen in difficult circumstances; awarded nearly 600 scholarships to nearly 600 children of fishermen in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study; coordinated with medical facilities to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine to 2,000 people.

Within the framework of the program in Nghe An, the Organizing Committee of the Program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" presented 100 gifts to fishermen (each gift worth more than 4 million VND); awarded 30 scholarships (each worth about 3 million VND) to children of fishermen in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well./.
