On the morning of December 6, the Department of Agriculture and Environment held a fish release ceremony to restore aquatic resources at Da Han dam, Huong Binh commune. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh also attended.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh, along with delegates and people, released about 80,000 fish fry into the Da Han dam reservoir area to restore aquatic resources. The main fish species are: catfish, black carp, common carp, white carp, bighead carp, etc. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the responsibility of the government, all levels of sectors and each person in the work of protecting, restoring and developing aquatic resources.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Huy Thanh said that aquatic resources are invaluable common assets of the people, the livelihood of tens of thousands of workers, and a factor in maintaining ecological balance. However, Ha Tinh's aquatic resources are declining due to climate change and environmental pollution; especially due to irresponsible and even destructive exploitation activities still taking place in some communes and wards. This is a problem that not only affects the economy and people's lives but also threatens the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the coming years.

Realizing that, Ha Tinh province has issued many important mechanisms and policies to support the protection and development of aquatic resources in the area. At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to synchronously implement programs to regenerate resources, restore aquatic ecosystems, build community models to protect aquatic resources and raise people's awareness.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the fish release ceremony is a meaningful activity to contribute to the recovery of native aquatic species, increase biodiversity; create sustainable livelihoods for people in inland waterways and, more importantly, send a strong message from the provincial government about the determination to protect and develop aquatic resources and protect the environment and ecology.
At the same time, it is recommended that departments, branches and commune-level authorities strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to strictly comply with the Fisheries Law. Absolutely do not let destructive exploitation such as using electric shocks, explosives, and toxic chemicals recur. Organize patrols, control, and strictly handle violations. Local leaders must be responsible if violations persist.

Functional forces such as the police, border guards, and fisheries surveillance need to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, organize specialized patrols, and thoroughly and without leniency handle acts of destroying aquatic resources.
Media agencies should increase propaganda of good models and good examples; at the same time promptly report violations so that the province can direct handling.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on all people to join hands to protect aquatic resources; not exploit young fish or fish fry; comply with regulations on fishing ban time; promptly report and report to the authorities violations such as using electric shocks, explosives, and toxic chemicals to exploit aquatic products.
