Ministry of Public Security: Clarifying and handling the act of "assisting" in counterfeit and fake goods

On the afternoon of July 7, at a press conference to inform about the situation and results of the public security work in the first 6 months of 2025 of the Ministry of Public Security, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief of Office, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, informed about the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said that the handling work focuses on 4 areas including: Detecting and handling violations related to counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods...; at the same time, reviewing and clarifying the responsibilities of agencies and competent individuals in state management; continuing to clarify "assisting" acts, such as false advertising...

Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said that through cases and incidents, the most important thing is to discover loopholes and shortcomings in state management and legal regulations in order to propose solutions for prevention and correction.

Regarding the "collusion" and "collusion" of some officials in state management, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said: "Recently, in relation to cases and incidents, the police have prosecuted 9 defendants, including the former Director of the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health )."

Regarding the direction for the coming time, the Ministry of Public Security has identified this as a key and regular task of the police of units and localities with the spirit of re-establishing order and discipline in this field, thereby ensuring the health of the people.

The Ministry of Public Security will continue to promptly handle the cases, coordinate with the Procuracy and the Court to soon conclude the cases; clarify all acts and related individuals to handle them in accordance with regulations.

The Ministry of Public Security also continues to advise on preventing and overcoming loopholes in state management, thereby gradually building an orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy society.
