The General Department of Market Management will cease operations.

Pursuant to the Conclusion of the Central Steering Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently", the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has agreed on a number of issues.

specifically, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has a policy to report to the competent authority for consideration and decision on ending the activities of the Party Executive Committee, thereby ending the activities of the Office of the Party Executive Committee. At the same time, establish the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade directly under the Government Party Committee and consolidate the organizations under the Party Committee;

End the model of a General Department under the Ministry for the General Department of Market Management; study and propose to arrange the General Department of Market Management according to a new model; review and arrange the organizational model of the Ministry's units towards streamlining the internal apparatus for effective and efficient operation.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests that units urgently summarize and report on the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW; Evaluate the operations and the necessity of maintaining the organization of the unit, on that basis, proposes whether or not to continue maintaining the unit.

In case of objections to continue maintaining the unit, please propose a plan to arrange the internal organizational model towards streamlining, effective and efficient operation. In case the unit is assessed as not necessary to maintain, please propose a plan to arrange and reorganize.

Along with that, the Minister of Industry and Trade requested research units to contribute comments to the draft Summary Report of the Party Executive Committee on the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW; requested orders to seriously and urgently implement and send reports to the Ministry before December 8, 2024.
