From November 1, 2024 to March 1, 2025, the Provincial Market Management Department will implement a high-intensity plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2024; and before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 in the province.
The provincial market management force is intensifying inspections and controls of goods in Phu Tho town during the year-end period.
Accordingly, the Provincial Market Management Department effectively implemented directives from the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the General Department of Market Management, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee 389 in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods. The focus was on market inspection and control, and strict handling of administrative violations related to goods with high consumer demand during the year-end and Lunar New Year holidays, such as: cigarettes, alcohol, beer, soft drinks, sugar, food, electronics, refrigeration equipment, clothing, footwear, livestock, poultry, processed products from livestock and poultry, firecrackers, and fireworks; especially controlling goods traded online through e-commerce platforms, websites, and social networks like Facebook and TikTok; inspecting product quality and compliance with national and published technical standards and regulations on product quality and food safety.
Strengthen coordination with functional forces and local authorities, regularly review and inspect the distribution chain, inspect warehouses, goods collection points, shopping centers, supermarkets, wholesale markets, food production and business establishments, craft villages, etc. Simultaneously, coordinate between units within the industry to implement inspection and control work to achieve the highest efficiency and in accordance with the law.
Coordinate with mass media agencies to intensify propaganda about market inspection and control activities during peak periods; combine inspection and handling of violations with mobilizing organizations and individuals engaged in commercial activities in the area to participate in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods through diverse and practical methods; implement the signing of commitments not to produce or trade counterfeit, smuggled, or substandard goods; inspect businesses that have signed commitments and strictly handle cases of violations.
Strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly urge and correct the implementation of official duties by civil servants according to regulations; strictly handle collectives and individuals who violate regulations in the performance of their duties. Pay attention to and improve the effectiveness of emulation and reward work to create motivation to strive to excellently complete assigned tasks.
