(MPI) – Every year, on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the Ministry of Planning and Investment organizes a program to show the tradition of "remembering the source of water" and to express deep gratitude to families who have contributed to the cause of national liberation and unification. Promoting that tradition, recently, a working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment led by Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, National Assembly delegate of the 15th term of Quang Tri province, made a trip to the source to pay tribute to heroic martyrs and families of people with revolutionary contributions in the provinces of Quang Tri, Ha Tinh and Nghe An.

In Quang Tri , the delegation visited the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9, the Central Memorial of the Special National Monument of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, the Martyrs' Cemetery of Trieu Phong District, the National Martyrs' Cemetery of Truong Son; and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries in the area.
The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery is the eternal resting place of more than 10,800 heroic martyrs from across the country who fought and heroically sacrificed on the Quang Tri battlefield and performed noble international duties in Laos.
Quang Tri Citadel has been recorded in the history of the nation as a shining golden milestone of revolutionary heroism through the brave and steadfast fight to protect the Citadel and Quang Tri town during 81 historic days and nights in 1972. Thousands of liberation soldiers from all over the country and Quang Tri people fought bravely, sacrificed, and will forever remain on this land. Their blood has been mixed into the soil for the country to have today, and for the people to have freedom and happiness.

At the Martyrs' Cemetery of Trieu Phong district, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment attended the ceremony to open the Great Bell and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs organized by the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district. Also attending were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Tri province Le Quang Tung; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee Ho Thi Thu Hang; Commander of the 12th Army Corps, Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc. Nearly 600 martyrs are resting at the cemetery. In Trieu Phong district, more than 6,000 graves of heroic martyrs from all over the country in 18 martyr cemeteries are being cared for and offered incense.
Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is a place to commemorate, honor and rest for more than 10,000 beloved children of the Fatherland, heroes and martyrs who heroically sacrificed their blood and bones on the historic Ho Chi Minh trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country.
In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegation offered flowers, incense and observed a moment of silence, expressing their infinite gratitude and deep appreciation for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth, bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification. Before the heroic martyrs, the members of the delegation pledged to continue to promote the tradition of revolutionary heroism, uphold the spirit of solidarity, strive to overcome difficulties, and be determined to excellently complete all assigned tasks, contributing to the construction and solid protection of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new situation.
On this occasion, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment organized a meeting and presented gifts to families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution in the two districts of Dakrong, Huong Hoa and Vinh Linh, Quang Tri province. Also attending the gift-giving program was comrade Ha Sy Dong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, and National Assembly delegate of the 15th term of Quang Tri province.

In Dakrong district, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment presented 100 gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to policy families in the area.
In Huong Hoa district, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment also presented 100 gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to policy families in the area.
In Vinh Linh district, the delegation presented the inauguration plaque and handed over 10 solidarity houses to 10 poor households in Vinh O commune with a total value of 700 million VND. The delegation also presented gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to the Fund for the Poor of Vinh Linh district worth 50 million VND; and presented support for landscape construction of the project "Model road in new rural construction" to the Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Lam district (Vinh Linh district) worth 50 million VND.
The delegation also presented 47 gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to policy families and war invalids in the district.
Within the framework of the gift-giving program in Vinh Linh district, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the working delegation also visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ta Thi Phun (87 years old), whose first husband and a child with her second husband were martyrs; Ms. Le Thi Uyen (85 years old), mother of a martyr, whose husband has passed away; and war invalid Le Van Dong, with a disability rate of 61%.

Speaking at the gift-giving programs, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that, with the traditional morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", our Party and State always pay special attention to the families of war invalids, sick soldiers, martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Imbued with that meaning, every year, on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, the Ministry of Planning and Investment organizes delegations to offer incense at martyrs' cemeteries, and at the same time visit, encourage, and express gratitude to families who have made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Expressing his joy at the positive changes that Quang Tri province has achieved in recent times, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung wished the Party Committee, government and people of the localities to continue to reap even greater achievements; wished the people good health, happiness, good luck in life, continued solidarity, trust in the Party's guidelines, support the district and commune, and together contribute to creating greater strength to build the country increasingly prosperous.
“The Ministry of Planning and Investment always accompanies and stands side by side with Quang Tri, supporting the province with the wish that Quang Tri will develop faster, Quang Tri people will be happier, and life will be more prosperous and better,” the Minister emphasized.

Continuing the trip back to the source, in Ha Tinh province, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment organized a gift giving program for war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and relatives of people with revolutionary contributions in Loc Ha district.
On behalf of the delegation, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung sent his warm regards to all the people and expressed his excitement at witnessing the remarkable development of Ha Tinh and the strong changes of Loc Ha district in recent times.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed that this is a great effort of the Party Committee and the government of Ha Tinh province, especially the contribution of the people, the solidarity, joint efforts, and consensus in implementing the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and the emulation and contribution of each individual and each family for the common good of the commune, district, and province.
Minister Nguyen Chi Dung wished the people of Loc Ha district good health, happiness, good luck, continued solidarity under the leadership of the Party Committee and the district government, trust in the Party's leadership, strictly implement the State's policies and laws, strive to compete and make efforts with the entire province, district and commune to complete the set goals and tasks, in which the highest goal is that the province, district and commune will increasingly develop, and the people's lives will become increasingly prosperous and happy.

On this occasion, the working delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment presented 200 gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment worth 100 million VND to policy families of Ha Tinh province through the Provincial Gratitude Fund.
The delegation presented 200 gifts from officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Planning and Investment worth 100 million VND to policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution in Loc Ha district; presented 164 gifts worth 82 million VND to people with meritorious services to the revolution in Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district. At the same time, presented 50 million VND to the Loc Ha district Education Promotion Fund and 50 million VND to the district's Agricultural Promotion Fund.
Also during the program's activities, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Chung Son Temple - Uncle Ho's ancestral temple and Kim Lien special national relic site in Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.

Also attending was comrade Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province.
On behalf of the delegation, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung respectfully offered a beautiful flower basket and expressed his sincere respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, outstanding cultural celebrity, great leader of the Party and people of Vietnam.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the members of the delegation pledged to continue to study and follow his ideology, morality and style; to be exemplary, pioneering, effectively implementing emulation movements, comprehensively innovating all aspects of work, and successfully completing all assigned tasks./.
