Minister Dang Quoc Khanh and his delegation made a field inspection at irrigation works - the main source of domestic and agricultural water supply for Da Nang city.

Also participating in the inspection were investors of hydroelectric reservoirs upstream of Vu Gia - Thu Bon.

Recently, the water source on Cam Le River has been continuously contaminated with salt. Da Nang City has operated the An Trach saltwater prevention pumping station to pump water to Cau Do water plant, providing water for Da Nang city residents.

At the inspection, the leader of Da Nang Water Supply Joint Stock Company reported that the biggest concern in water supply for Da Nang is the lack of raw water. Therefore, the water supply unit proposed to upgrade the An Trach anti-salt pumping station to limit leakage. In addition, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment directed the units operating hydroelectric reservoirs to discharge water reasonably so that the water source to Vu Gia River is maintained stably and to build a temporary dam on Quang Hue River in Quang Nam province.
