The contest aims to evaluate the current level and comprehensive leadership and command capacity of the team of battalion commanders and battalion political commissars in the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces.

The contest took place from July 29 to 31. More than 80 contestants participated in the following categories: Awareness of combat staff work, training staff work; training tasks, combat readiness; understanding of troop management regulations, documents on regular construction, discipline management, guard work; technical and tactical features of weapons in the battalion level; awareness of logistics, finance, military medicine, and engineering work at the battalion level...

At the same time, in the practical part of the combat staff work: The Battalion Commander drafts the combat plan; The Political Commissar drafts and issues a Resolution to lead the combat mission. In addition, the candidates also practice shooting the K54 pistol, lesson 1; Practice commanding the formation (each person without a gun) in 2 steps, test the 100m run, pull-up bar, and swim freestyle for 3 minutes.

Through the contest, the Command hopes to consolidate and improve comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of work, both theoretical and practical, from command and staff work, conducting Party work, political work, to general understanding of military , politics, logistics, and technology; practicing team command movements, physical training results and proficiency in using weapons and equipment.

This is also the basis for continuing to direct units to organize training and review the contents of the higher-level contest to achieve high results. The contest is also an environment for contestants to exchange, learn, and share experiences, contributing to improving all aspects of their qualifications."
