Cocoloco Beach.
Labadi Beach
One of the busiest beaches and easily accessible from Ghana's capital, Labadi attracts many residents and visitors. During the day, crowds of sunbathers relax on beach chairs, lunching on grilled beef and beer.
Kayayei (women vendors) sell water pouches, banana and sugar cane snacks along the beach, while local men offer horseback rides through the shallows. As night falls, bonfires are lit and Labadi pulses with West African reggae and afrobeats.
Bojo Beach
Visitors can drive to Bojo Beach on the west side of the Densu Plain Conservation Area. This private white sand island beach, accessible by canoe across the Densu River, is the perfect place to relax with family and friends and is safe for children.
Butre Beach
Nestled in the western region of Ghana, Butre Beach is not only a great place to relax but also allows visitors to immerse themselves in the local culture.
Visitors will enjoy exploring the village of Butre, home to the former Dutch hilltop trading post Fort Batenstein with sweeping views of the Atlantic. They can also take moonlit walks, watch sea turtles come ashore, or canoe down the Butre River and wander through mangrove forests, where kingfishers and crocodiles thrive.
Cocoloco Beach
Surrounded by coconut groves, Cocoloco is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ada Foah, about 110km from Accra. Cocoloco is a haven for resident and migratory birds, including gulls, storks, royal birds and black terns. Sea turtles also breed here, usually laying their eggs in November and December. If you are lucky, you might even spot a manatee.
While the water here is ideal for swimming, the sea breeze is favorable for visitors to play windsurfing and sailing.
Every Wednesday or Saturday, visitors come to the market in Ada Foah to enjoy fresh clams, shrimp, crabs and some fish, or you can also buy some to grill and enjoy a seafood party on the beach, right next to the tents or wooden houses here.
