Bosch Group has chosen Vietnam as its second-largest global software development hub (after India). The Bosch Global Software Technology Centre (BGST), located in Ho Chi Minh City, currently employs approximately 3,000 software engineers.
This information was provided by Mr. Andre de Jong, General Director of Bosch Vietnam, at a press conference introducing the Bosch Tech Tour 2025 exhibition held this morning, October 24th.
Mr. Andre de Jong stated that the Group has invested over 500 million euros in factories, production lines, and software centers in Vietnam. Besides its range of household utility products, Bosch is currently focusing on investing in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, integrated circuit design, and collaborating with universities and research institutes to develop the semiconductor industry.
“Vietnam is promoting the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries. This is an opportunity for Bosch to invest, cooperate, and train personnel in this field,” said Andre de Jong.
Bosch first entered Vietnam in 1994, initially producing power tools and automotive parts, and is currently the largest German investor in Vietnam. Currently, Bosch has chosen Vietnam as its second-largest global software development base (after India).
“We have approximately 3,000 software engineers working at the Bosch Global Software Technology Center (BGST) in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam has a young and highly skilled workforce in this field. This is also why Bosch is investing heavily in R&D in Vietnam,” Mr. Andre de Jong emphasized.
