The contest had the participation of 84 disabled contestants from 7 groups from provinces and cities including: Binh Phuoc, Binh Thuan, Ca Mau, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Soc Trang (in which, the youngest contestant was 12 years old, the oldest was 61 years old). This is an opportunity for disabled people from the provinces to learn, exchange, demonstrate their abilities in cultural and artistic activities; affirm their own values and integrate more and more deeply into all areas of life.
Actors Nguyen Thi Hong and Pham Thai Hai actively practiced to prepare for the competition.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Dam, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Support of Disabled and Orphans, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said: “In the context that localities are actively implementing the Party's major policies, streamlining the State's political and administrative system, directly affecting the organization and operation of the Association, many provincial and municipal associations are still actively preparing for the preliminary rounds, selecting practice performances to participate in regional contests in all three regions of the North - Central - South. The contest is truly a festival for people with disabilities, a cultural and artistic activity full of humanity and kindness.
With the song "Afternoon Sea", contestant Nguyen Van Nghiem brought the audience many emotions with his sweet voice, full of love for the coastal countryside of Ca Mau .
The performance "Light from the heart" (Musician Tuan Quang) was performed with great emotion by contestant Nguyen Van Han.
There are a total of 21 performances in the contest, including many genres: solo, duet, trio, dance, solo, instrumental ensemble... These are the passion, feelings, and talents of the disabled contestants who have been selected from local cultural and artistic movements, promising to bring the judges and the audience many interesting emotions and experiences. The Ca Mau Provincial Association alone has built a program to participate with 3 performances: traditional singing "Afternoon Sea" (author: Huynh Chieu, performed by Vo Van Nghiem), solo "Singing from the Heart" (Musician Tuan Quang, performed by Nguyen Van Han) and traditional instrumental ensemble by 2 contestants Pham Thi Hong - Nguyen Thai Hai. As a result, Ca Mau won 1 Silver prize, 2 Encouragement prizes, 1 award for impressive instrumental ensemble, and 1 certificate of merit from the Central Association. In addition, the traditional singing performance "Afternoon Sea" by contestant Vo Van Nghiem was also awarded a gift by Meritorious Artist Le Tu, a member of the Jury for his impressive performance at the contest.
