Tung and Trang: We didn't think there were so many types of pho!

Artist Tung invited Trang's musician to Pho Day and was "overwhelmed" by the scale of the event and the diversity of Vietnamese pho. Before that, Tung's mind only held beef or chicken pho.

"There are so many types of pho. Even I, a Vietnamese person, don't know them all," Tung said in surprise.

Tung and Trang are fans of authentic pho. Both express a particular fondness for Northern-style pho; every time they perform in Hanoi , they always make sure to eat pho.

"Hanoi has a strange thing: as soon as you step out of your house or out of your alley, you'll find a pho restaurant, and every single one is delicious, each with its own completely different flavor," Trang recounted.

Tung shared more memorable experiences in Hanoi related to pho. He remembers sitting on the sidewalk enjoying hot, fragrant bowls of pho in the cool weather. He also remembers times after a performance, when Hanoi was late at night (around 2-3 am), sitting down to eat pho and finding the city so beautiful and unique…

Both shared a list of their favorite pho restaurants in the capital, including Pho Khoi Hoi, Pho Ga Nguyet, Pho Huy 67, Pho Bat Dan… But in Ho Chi Minh City, they also rate some places highly, such as Pho Phu Gia, Pho Phu Vuong, Pho Hoa…

Tung and Trang are two prominent artists in Vietnamese indie music, both having been very active in the music scene this year.

In May, Tung released the album "To Climb a Mountain " - the artist's third album after " 26: Individualism" ( 2020) and "Summer Parade" (2022). At the same time, he embarked on the " Tung Party " tour in four cities: Da Lat, Hanoi, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Meanwhile, Trang has just released her album "Trong" and is currently in the process of promoting it.

Singer Nguyen Ha's husband, who used to like Northern-style pho, now finds Southern-style pho just as delicious.

Singer Nguyen Ha asked family members to look after her children; she invited her Korean husband and mother to enjoy Pho Day.

Kang Seung Woon, the singer's husband, lived and worked in Vietnam for 12 years. He can communicate fluently in Vietnamese.

At the event, Nguyen Ha's family enjoyed bowls of hot pho. Kang Seung Woon said it was "very delicious".

Kang Seung Woon said he's a big fan of Vietnamese pho, able to eat it three times a week. He used to eat pho many times in his homeland and loved it. But after coming to Vietnam and experiencing Vietnamese pho firsthand, he no longer wants to eat pho in Korea.

"The pho in Korea isn't as flavorful, while Vietnamese pho probably has its broth simmered longer, resulting in a richer and more delicious taste. Furthermore, Korean pho is usually made with dried noodles, not fresh noodles like in Vietnam, so it's naturally not as tasty," he explained.

The artist's husband added that he likes Northern-style pho, but today he found Southern-style pho delicious as well. Besides pho, he also likes banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake) and bun cha (grilled pork with vermicelli).

Nguyen Ha was born in 1988. She is known for her ballad and light, soulful pop music through many songs such as "We Have a Date with May," "Closing My Eyes, I See Summer," "I'm Sorry," and " Waiting for the Day the Promise Blooms ."

Nguyen Ha participated in the first season of the "Beautiful Sisters Riding the Waves" program (2023) but was unfortunately eliminated in the first performance. The singer has a rather private personal life. She is married to a Korean man. The couple had been together for a long time before getting married.

This year, Nguyen Ha released a lyric music video titled "It's Been 4 Years Since Then ." Ha told Tuoi Tre Online that she will soon release a song celebrating Tet (Lunar New Year) and another song dedicated to her child.

The Pho Day 12-12 program, now in its 9th year with the theme "Elevating Vietnamese Rice - Spreading Across Five Continents," will take place over two days, December 13th and 14th, at the former Tax Department Store area, 135 Nguyen Hue Street, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program features nearly 30 famous and unique pho brands from North to South Vietnam, showcasing a diverse range of pho dishes reflecting the characteristics of different regions and local cultures.

With a price of 40,000 VND per bowl, the Pho Day festival on December 12, 2025, is expected to serve more than 20,000 servings over two days. The organizers will donate at least 10% of the pho sales revenue to the "Pho of Love" program, cooking and serving pho to people in the flood-stricken areas of Dak Lak province (formerly Phu Yen ), which recently suffered damage from natural disasters.
