On the evening of November 2, at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater, the 2025 National Open Music Festival with the theme "Music Convergence and Spread" officially ended, marking a festival that was a great success in both scale and artistic quality.

The event is organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station and the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, taking place from October 29 to November 2, 2025.



At the festival, Lao Cai musicians won 3 B prizes in the composition category. Specifically, musician Xuan Quynh with the work "Than ve quoc", musician Ha Thanh with the work "Loi xa tu dai ngan Tay Bac", and musician Kim Xuan Hung with the work "Tho cam". In the performance category, singer Manh Tin also won a Silver medal.


This year’s festival attracted more than 600 musicians, with nearly 200 works from 38 associations nationwide. This is the first time the event has been held in Ho Chi Minh City, in the context of the city being honored by UNESCO as a “Creative City of Cinema” - the first cinema city in Southeast Asia.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, People's Artist Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: "As a global creative city, Ho Chi Minh City is always ready to welcome and spread cultural and artistic values. The 2025 National Open Music Festival is not only a professional playground, but also a bridge for exchange and integration between domestic and international artists."
Within the framework of the closing ceremony, the Vietnam Musicians Association coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi to organize the Vietnam - China Friendship Symphony Concert, with the participation of many senior leaders, along with musicians and artists from the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China).
People's Artist - Musician Nguyen Quang Vinh - Chairman of the Festival's Art Council, commented: This year's works clearly demonstrate topicality, creativity and breakthroughs in musical thinking. We acknowledge the artists' constant efforts in innovating and elevating the value of Vietnamese art.
Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said: The festival was a great success. The event gathered more than 600 artists and musicians, strongly affirming the professionalism and vitality of contemporary Vietnamese music.
