"The Door to the Future" - Bringing hope to disabled, orphaned and disadvantaged children

The charity program "The Door to the Future" has awarded 50 scholarships to disabled, orphaned, and disadvantaged students in especially difficult circumstances in Son Dong district, Bac Giang province.

In the early summer days, in the hot sun, we visited and encouraged families with orphaned children in Son Dong district who were in difficult circumstances. When we arrived, we could feel the determination of these families, they accepted a life of deprivation but were determined not to give up, persevering in raising their children and grandchildren and still hoping that one day in the near future, their children and grandchildren would have a better life.

Chu Thi Thuy Nga, born in 2017, class 3A2, Dai Son Primary School (Dong Cay village). Her father passed away due to a work accident, her mother remarried. Currently, she lives with her grandparents, every day she helps her grandmother with housework.

Hoang Thi Ly, born in 2019, class 5A1, Dai Son Primary School (Tan Son village), father had a serious illness and passed away in 2017, mother remarried, she lives with her 86-year-old grandmother, family economy is poor

Vi Thi Bich Hang, born in 2010, a 9th grader at Giao Liem Secondary School, is an orphan. In 2018, her father passed away due to a serious illness, leaving the mother and daughter to depend on each other for care. In 2020, her mother suffered from a serious illness and was treated expensively, going to the hospital frequently but not recovering, and passed away in 2023. Currently, she lives alone in a small house donated by the local government to build for her. In the photo, Ms. Luu Thi Giang Huong - Deputy Head of the Resource Mobilization Committee, Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Support of Disabled and Orphaned Children - Head of the Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, presented 5 million VND to support Vi Thi Bich Hang.

Visiting and giving gifts to disabled, orphaned, and disadvantaged children in especially difficult circumstances is a meaningful and humane act not only for individuals but for the whole society, contributing to encouraging their spirits, helping their families reduce difficulties, and creating conditions for them to be better cared for and nurtured in their growing up stages.

With the aim of visiting, encouraging and supporting the children, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans in coordination with the Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City of the Association for the Support of Poor Patients - Disabled People and Orphans of Lam Dong Province, Bac Giang Provincial Association, Venerable Thich Chau Thien - abbot of Tat Dat Da Pagoda - organized the program "The Door to the Future" to present 50 gifts to disabled, orphaned and disadvantaged students in difficult circumstances; gave financial support to 3 orphaned students, each student 5 million VND and gave wheelchairs to 5 disabled people, worth 8.5 million VND. The total support cost is 123.5 million VND, contributing to bringing joy, helping the children have more confidence and motivation to strive to excel in their studies, training, and becoming useful citizens of society.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Dam - Chairman of the Central Committee of the Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans of Vietnam and Venerable Thich Chau Thien - Abbot of Tat Dat Da Pagoda - awarded scholarships to poor students.

The gifts, although not too big, contain the love and sharing of the donors, and are timely help to give the children more strength and faith, creating opportunities for them to heal and have a better life.
