According to journalist Ngo Van Hai, Editor-in-Chief of VTC News Electronic Newspaper: "What we are most concerned about is that they insert bad and toxic information. Besides the official information published by the newspaper, they insert fraudulent information. The information published by the newspaper is believed by people, and when people believe, they will be deceived."

This concern is well-founded. Recently, a property extortion case occurred in Hanoi . Accordingly, the subjects created about 20 websites with names and interfaces similar to some official press agencies. Then, they collected information and wrote articles reflecting on signs of violations by organizations and individuals to collect money.

Since the beginning of the year, many fake fanpages of Vietnam Television programs have appeared. Some parents have lost large sums of money when fulfilling requests to register their children to participate. In the past 2 years, Giao Thong Newspaper has been impersonated 5 times to scam people into selling fake driver's licenses or spreading bad news.

Using technological solutions, calling for the involvement of management agencies, police agencies... press units are making efforts to protect themselves. Besides, it is very necessary for readers to be alert and careful to avoid becoming victims of counterfeiting, which has unpredictable consequences.
