Casting actors for the movie "Tay Son That Ho Tuong: Ky Nam Archer Ly Van Buu"

(GLO)- On the morning of October 30, at the Fleur de Lys Hotel (Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province), the production crew of the historical-martial arts film "Tay Son That Ho Tuong: Ky Nam Archer Ly Van Buu" held a casting session.

The film is directed by Vo Duc, produced by Director Do Khoi, and coordinated by Strategic Advisor Phan Phuc.

Attending the program were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province; the film production crew and actors participating in the casting session.

At the casting session, Film Strategy Advisor Phan Phuc informed about the idea, content and strategic purpose when making the film. The film revolves around Admiral Ly Van Buu, a general of the Tay Son Dynasty. He is one of the 7 generals known as "Tay Son That Ho Tuong" - a loyal, upright and good fighter. The film is expected to start filming at the end of December 2025. The film is expected to run for 120 minutes and be released in June 2026.

At the same time, the film production crew announced a number of veteran artists and talented actors participating in the film, including: Colonel-People's Artist Tran Nhuong, Meritorious Artist Manh Dung, Meritorious Artist Thanh Dau, Thanh Ta, Bui Trung Thai, Giang Le, Do Hien, Minh Tra... along with a number of young actors and famous Tiktokers.

Before organizing the casting in Gia Lai province, the film production team successfully organized two casting rounds in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi . This is the final casting round to find talented actors who possess the strength, toughness and charisma typical of the Martial Land, meeting the harsh physical and mental requirements of the heroic characters and brave generals of Tay Son.

The casting session attracted many actors, Tiktokers, students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, FPT University Quy Nhon and people to audition for roles in the film.
