On October 25, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee issued an official dispatch to the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations and nine Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Associations on "Regulating statements in literary and artistic activities on social networking sites".

Correct one-sided and misleading statements and articles

Recently, on social networking sites, Facebook and Zalo accounts of some Association leaders and members, there have appeared a number of articles that are one-sided, misleading or contrary to the Party and State's orientation on cultural and artistic work.

To ensure standards, responsibility and positive orientation in literary and artistic activities of Ho Chi Minh City, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requests the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations and nine Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Associations to pay attention to and implement a number of contents.

The Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations needs to inspect and rectify the situation where some leaders of the Association and members have written articles that do not meet standards, excessively express personal emotions, do not reflect the true nature of the matter, and do not conform to the Party and State's policies on cultural and artistic work.

The nine Literature and Arts Associations of Ho Chi Minh City need to strengthen propaganda work and thoroughly understand the code of conduct on social networks among the Association's leaders and members;

Strictly comply with the provisions of the law, the Association's charter and the code of conduct for literary and artistic workers; uphold the sense of responsibility in speaking and using social networking sites for the right purpose and direction.

Associations need to monitor, remind and analyze issues, and promptly discuss when discovering members with personal behaviors, statements, and articles that generally affect the organization and policies in cultural and artistic work of Ho Chi Minh City, causing negative public opinion in the literary and artistic circles and among the public;

Be public, explain the issue clearly, discuss with members not to share, comment, post false information, unverified information or information that is provocative, stereotypical, or affects individuals or organizations.
