According to CAND Newspaper reporters, today, the rising water level of O Lau River caused widespread flooding in Phong Dien Ward ( Hue City) and the communes and wards through which this river flows.
Mr. Ho Don, Chairman of Phong Dien Ward People's Committee, said that heavy rains in recent days have caused the water level of O Lau River to rise, causing some areas in the area to be deeply flooded, with some places being flooded up to 5 meters. In the entire Phong Dien Ward, 173 houses were heavily flooded from 2 to 2.5 meters.

In the residential groups of Phu Kinh Phuong, Phong Thu, Huynh Truc, Dong Thai, Hung Thai (Phong Dien ward), the water was 4.5 - 5 meters deep. At the house of Mr. Nguyen Dang Nhan, the head of Phu Kinh Ward residential group (Phong Dien ward) is organizing a funeral for Mrs. Nguyen TH (born in 1945; Mr. Nhan's aunt). However, due to the flood water rising into the house, Mr. Nhan's family had to carry Mrs. H's coffin onto a boat to avoid flooding. According to the leader of Phong Dien ward People's Committee, because Mrs. H had no children, Mr. Nhan's family organized a funeral for Mrs. H and planned to move the coffin for burial tomorrow morning (November 18).
