Promoting the role as a core force in people's foreign affairs, being a bridge of peace and friendship between the Vietnamese people and people of other countries
Immediately after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, President Ho Chi Minh directed the establishment of the first friendship organizations of Vietnam such as: Vietnam-US Friendship Association, Vietnam-China Friendship Association, Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Association and Vietnam World Peace Protection Committee. On November 17, 1950, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the Conference to establish Vietnam World Peace Protection Committee. In 2008, the Central Party Secretariat decided to take November 17, 1950 as the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai congratulated and commended generations of leaders, cadres, civil servants, workers and all those working in people's foreign affairs of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for their proud achievements over the past 75 years.

Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed the important role of bilateral and multilateral friendship organizations, the predecessors and members of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations today, together with the forces working in people's foreign affairs nationwide in the struggles for national independence and national reunification, as well as when peace was restored and the country entered a period of renovation and international integration.
Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai stated that the history of formation and development of Vietnam's people's diplomacy is a clear demonstration of the potential and strength of people's diplomacy in building and promoting peaceful, friendly and cooperative relations among nations in the world, as well as mobilizing and forming a world people's front to unite in support of Vietnam.
Faced with increasingly complicated developments in the world situation and urgent requirements of the country in the new era of national development, our entire Party, army and people are making efforts, accelerating, and making breakthroughs in implementing major breakthrough policies for development, towards the "two 100-year goals", Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai suggested that organizations doing people's foreign affairs work under the Vietnam Fatherland Front in general, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations in particular need to truly transform, make breakthroughs, and innovate more strongly to be worthy of the tradition of their ancestors, to maintain the core role in the pillar of people's foreign affairs, one of the three pillars of modern comprehensive Vietnamese diplomacy as our Party has affirmed and expected.

Regarding the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations system, comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai requested that it is necessary to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's policies, guidelines, visions, and strategic thinking on goals and tasks in the new era of national development to reach the level of a developed, high-income country, and steadily move towards socialism.
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations needs to advise the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front in creating profound changes in awareness of people-to-people diplomacy.
People's diplomacy must promote its strengths, closely link "the Party's will with the people's hearts", and connect "the great national solidarity bloc with noble international solidarity".
People's diplomacy must play an important role together with Party foreign affairs and State diplomacy in continuing to "combine the multi-layered strength of the nation with the strength of the times" to join the whole country in "building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, making a worthy contribution to the world revolutionary cause" as directed by General Secretary To Lam in recent times.
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations needs to continue to closely and smoothly coordinate Party foreign affairs and State diplomacy in advising the Party and State on the effective development and implementation of foreign affairs and people-to-people diplomacy policies, strategies, and plans.

It is necessary to further innovate the content and methods, and improve the quality and effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy activities. People-to-people diplomacy activities must be diverse in terms of implementing subjects, partners, cooperation fields, content and implementation methods. People-to-people diplomacy needs to be "proactively adaptive, innovative, creative, practical and effective".
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations must have a breakthrough in leadership, direction, orientation, organization and implementation of people-to-people foreign affairs activities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency; a breakthrough in promoting digital transformation, applying information technology and artificial intelligence to work; a breakthrough in building a team of people-to-people foreign affairs workers with strong political will, revolutionary ethics, qualifications, capacity, and all necessary skills, meeting the increasingly high requirements of the job.

President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son said that, imbued with the teaching of President Ho Chi Minh "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, and those who emulate are the most patriotic", the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations always considers emulation as a driving force for innovation and a measure of dedication.
Over the years, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has actively responded to movements launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; at the same time, it has implemented movements launched by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, associated with political tasks. Many typical collectives and individuals with good models and creative ways of doing things have appeared, contributing to improving the quality of operations of the entire system.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai presented the First Class Labor Medal to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations - this noble award is to recognize the outstanding contributions of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in people-to-people diplomacy, mobilizing international support, solidarity and resources, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
On this occasion, the Presidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals who are "Advanced models in the patriotic emulation movement of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for the period 2021-2025"; launched the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025-2030.
