Cuban National Assembly Chairman impressed with Vietnamese teacher and student drones

(Dan Tri) - Mr. Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, was impressed with the drones of teachers and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

On October 3, a high-ranking Cuban delegation led by Mr. Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba and President of the Council of State of Cuba, visited and worked with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

This event contributes to promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

With this working trip, the Cuban delegation hopes to learn from Vietnam's experience in improving and applying high technology to agricultural development to serve the lives of the Cuban people.

At the working session, the high-ranking delegation of Cuba and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education discussed strategic cooperation orientations in the fields of telecommunications, renewable energy, food processing technology, agriculture, poverty reduction programs and sustainable development.

Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Ho Chi Minh City, shared that, with the role of economic locomotive, cultural, scientific and technological center of the whole country, Ho Chi Minh City is always aware of its responsibility to foster and develop the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

Mr. Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that it is the generations of students who will nurture the desire to study, research and innovate, contributing to the country and the Vietnam - Cuba friendship.

Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez, Secretary General of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba, shared that the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba originated in the 19th century, but was deeply developed after the 1959 Cuban Revolution, associated with the common sentiments and thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro.

Mr. Homero Acosta Álvarez reiterated the affirmation of the close relationship between the two countries by leader Fidel Castro: "For Vietnam, we are willing to sacrifice our blood."

This person also mentioned that since the 1960s and 1970s, Cuban children have been learning and singing about Vietnam, many schools in Cuba are named after Vietnamese heroes such as Vo Thi Thang, Nguyen Van Troi...

In particular, the event also featured a demonstration of Drones (unmanned aircraft) applied in agriculture created by teachers and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

Mr. Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, President of the Council of State of Cuba expressed his impression of the features, functions, parameters and the rate of more than 70% of domestically produced equipment of this Drone for agricultural applications. Currently, only a few engines of this drone are imported from abroad.

Mr. Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández told teachers and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education: “I hope that this drone will soon be a 100% Vietnamese-made product. And one day, you will bring this product to Cuba.”
