On October 27th, the Zalo AI Challenge 2025 artificial intelligence competition officially launched. First held in 2018, the Zalo AI Challenge attracts thousands of participating teams each year.

The Zalo AI Challenge 2025 has a total prize pool of up to $12,000 USD. Registration officially opened on October 27th and the submission deadline is November 20th.

This year's Zalo AI Challenge conveys the message "AI as an efficient partner." Artificial intelligence is increasingly being invested in and promoted with many practical applications in human life in many aspects, from personal life to work. More than just a tool, AI has become a reliable "partner," helping each person work more efficiently, creatively, and achieve breakthroughs.

The message "AI as an efficient partner" was directly conveyed through two highly practical competitions in Vietnam: AeroEyes - Finding and Rescuing with AI-Powered Drones and RoadBuddy - Understanding the Road through Dashcam AI.

The exam question, "AeroEyes - Finding and Rescuing with AI-Powered Drones," holds immense social value by applying autonomous drone technology in emergency situations and disaster response, helping to search for missing persons or important objects in harsh environments such as flooded areas, dense forests, and areas devastated after storms.

In the context of increasingly severe natural disasters and floods caused by climate change, AI technology is becoming a leading force in rescue and emergency response efforts.

The combination of AI with drone systems has opened up a breakthrough: these airborne "eyes" can scan tens of square kilometers in just minutes, analyzing images in real time to detect people in distress, deeply flooded areas, or cut-off roads.

Instead of relying on manual observation in harsh conditions, AI helps rescue forces pinpoint locations more accurately, optimize resources, and significantly shorten response times.

With the challenge "AeroEyes - Finding and Rescuing with AI-Powered Drones," competing teams will develop algorithms to control drones to perform a specific task in a real-world environment using images captured by the drone, simulating a real -world search and rescue mission.

Traffic is a pressing issue in today's society. With complex traffic conditions and ever-increasing vehicle density, AI technology supports safer driving.

By understanding and analyzing images from dashcams, AI systems can quickly identify road signs, traffic lights, and hazardous situations.

This not only helps minimize accidents caused by distraction, but also supports compliance with traffic laws, especially in urban environments with high traffic density like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

The "RoadBuddy – Understanding the Road through Dashcam AI" challenge aims to build a driving assistant capable of understanding video content from dashcams to quickly answer questions related to traffic signs, signals, and

The Zalo AI Challenge adopted the Kaggle format for all seven editions. During the competition, participating teams continuously updated their model results on the Leaderboard, allowing them to directly monitor each other's training progress in real time.

At the same time, after the competition ends, Zalo AI always encourages participating teams to share their solutions with the AI community within the framework of the Zalo AI Summit or on Vietnamese technology forums.

Dr. Chau Thanh Duc, Deputy Head of the competition organizing committee and Director of Research & Development at Zalo AI, shared: “Globally, artificial intelligence is developing at an unprecedented pace and is increasingly impacting work and life. Vietnam has great potential to excel in this field, thanks to its talented young workforce in STEM disciplines. However, we still lack the necessary guidance and connections to fully realize that potential. The Zalo AI Challenge is organized to introduce the latest global trends to the Vietnamese AI community through highly applicable and practical problems.”
