According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, in July 2025, Dong Nai's economy continued to grow positively. Dong Nai continues to affirm itself as an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. The province has attracted 65 more domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of VND56.8 trillion; attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) reaching USD1.8 billion.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the first 6 months of 2025 and the first phase after the merger, Dong Nai has synchronously implemented many solutions to mobilize resources, accelerate the progress of key projects and works to promote development and enhance inter-regional connectivity. In particular, the province has completed 100% of compensation and site clearance for the Long Thanh International Airport Project and connecting routes T1, T2, and handed over the site to the investor for construction.
The Ring Road 3 Project - Ho Chi Minh City has completed site clearance and handed over the entire project to the construction unit. It is expected that Component 3 of the project will be technically opened to traffic before December 19, 2025. For the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, the site handover has been completed, the contractor is focusing on construction, striving to technically open Component 1 Project on December 19, 2025.
In addition, the province is coordinating with relevant localities and units to complete procedures to start construction of the expressways: Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh on August 19. As for the Ma Da Bridge project and the connecting road, the province has added it to the planning and prepared a pre-feasibility study report, and is expected to hold a groundbreaking ceremony on August 19 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). In total, the province plans to start construction and inaugurate 8 projects on this occasion, with a total investment of about 50 trillion VND.
The cultural and social fields continue to receive attention and promotion. National defense, security, borders, and social order and safety are maintained, creating a stable environment for development.

However, some initial difficulties after the merger and operation of the two-level local government in the new province include: The arrangement of headquarters, personnel and equipment for some communes and wards is not yet synchronized; administrative procedures are not yet fully operated in the digital environment, forcing manual processing. In addition, some incomplete legal documents make it difficult to disburse public investment capital. The system for storing and synchronizing administrative data, especially between the two old provinces, is not yet complete, affecting the progress of work processing.
In the coming time, the province will focus on overcoming the above-mentioned shortcomings, while promoting the disbursement of public investment capital, prioritizing important and strategic transport works and projects. Continue to synchronously implement tasks and solutions to promote economic growth such as: Stimulating consumption, promoting trade, attracting tourism, boosting exports and striving to exceed budget estimates.
The province will focus on completing the adjustment of the Dong Nai Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to meet development requirements in the new period. At the same time, it will complete and submit for approval 4 major urban planning projects to create momentum for socio-economic development.
