Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a decision on establishing the Steering Committee for Tourism Development in Can Gio district.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee decided to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee for Tourism Development in Can Gio District.

According to the decision, the Steering Committee consists of 22 members, with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai as Head of the Committee. Vice Chairman of the Can Gio District People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Xuan as Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee.

Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu and Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Vo Trong Nam, as Deputy Heads of the Committee, along with 17 comrades as members of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee's working group consists of 31 members. Head of the Department of Planning and Tourism Resources Development (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism) Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao is the Team Leader.

The Steering Committee is responsible for directing the coordination of activities and inspecting and urging relevant departments, branches, agencies, units and the People's Committee of Can Gio district in developing and organizing the implementation of tourism development programs in each period in accordance with the socio-economic development goals of Ho Chi Minh City. Consulting and proposing to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City solutions, mechanisms and policies on tourism development in the city and creating an image and brand for the tourism industry of Can Gio district.

Can Gio District People's Committee is assigned as the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee, responsible for synthesizing and advising on the implementation of the Steering Committee's tasks according to the operating regulations, and preparing necessary conditions for meetings and activities of the Steering Committee.
