This stadium has a capacity of over 80,000 people and if it is filled, it will certainly put a lot of pressure on the visiting Vietnamese team. However, when interviewed before the match, the players (like Dinh Bac) all affirmed that the whole team is used to the pressure at stadiums with large capacity and will only focus on the match, putting aside all external factors.
VFF President urges U.23 Vietnam spirit
On the afternoon of July 29, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan visited and encouraged the spirit of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his praise for the impressive achievements that the team had achieved throughout the tournament. U.23 Vietnam won the group stage and passed the semi-finals to reach the final.

President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that these achievements are clear evidence of the progress of the whole team, and expressed his belief that these achievements will give the players more confidence and courage in the upcoming important match. He also shared beautiful memories when the national team won the AFF Cup championship earlier this year, and believed that U.23 Vietnam will continue to succeed, creating historical marks in the regional arena.

Despite having home field advantage, facing U.23 Vietnam is always a difficult challenge. Since 2015, in all official tournaments from SEA Games, U.23 Asian qualifiers to AFF U.23, U.23 Indonesia has never defeated Vietnam. Notably, in the AFF U.23 final in 2023, the two teams drew 0-0 after 120 minutes of play, before U.23 Vietnam won 6-5 in the penalty shootout.
A large Indonesian security force was present for the U.23 Southeast Asian final.
In recent confrontations, U.23 Indonesia has also suffered notable defeats, such as in the 2021 and 2019 SEA Games finals with a score of 0-3, or even a 0-5 loss at the 2015 SEA Games. However, at the 2019 AFF Cup U.22 tournament, Indonesia under the leadership of coach Indra Sjafri defeated U.22 Vietnam in the semi-finals, winning the tournament championship.
Tonight’s match promises to be a thrilling contest between two teams with rich traditions, where each team has a reason to fight with all their might, and U.23 Vietnam will certainly not let the difficulties on the away field stop them. With the enthusiastic support from the fans, U.23 Vietnam will continue to fight for national pride, determined to bring home victory.
