Art and political program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Truong Sa Liberation Day

On the evening of April 29, at Cam Ranh Military Port (Khanh Hoa province), the Navy, the Naval Region 4 Command, and Khanh Hoa Provincial Radio and Television Station jointly organized an art and political program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975 - April 29, 2025), and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the program were comrades: Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Major General Be Hai Trieu, Director of the Department of Mass Mobilization, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; along with leaders of the Navy, Naval Region 4 Command, leaders of Khanh Hoa province, historical witnesses and thousands of soldiers and people.

At the program, the delegates together reviewed the historic moment exactly 50 years ago, after Khanh Hoa province was liberated. In the spirit of the army advancing to liberate the South, with the guiding ideology of "speed, boldness, surprise, sure victory", the Navy closely coordinated with units of Military Region 5, the army and people of Khanh Hoa province to seize the opportunity, suddenly attack, successively liberating the islands of Truong Sa archipelago, including Song Tu Tay (April 14, 1975), Son Ca (April 25, 1975), Nam Yet (April 27, 1975), Sinh Ton (April 28, 1975) and on April 29, 1975 liberated Truong Sa island.

The victory of the army and people on Truong Sa island contributed significantly to the great victory of the nation - liberating the South, unifying the country; affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago.

Over the past 50 years, with the comprehensive attention and investment of the Party, the State, Khanh Hoa and the support of all regions of the country, along with the unceasing efforts of generations of cadres, soldiers and people of the island district, Truong Sa today is taking on a new appearance, constantly growing strong and beautiful.

The art and political program with the theme "Vitality of Truong Sa" brings an emotional space about the sea, a place to meet, exchange and connect memories about Truong Sa in the 50-year journey after liberation through 3 chapters: Legend of Truong Sa; Truong Sa today; Solid Truong Sa - The heart of the East Sea.

In particular, the program also had an exchange and listening session with the naval soldiers who set foot on Truong Sa 50 years ago, such as: Mr. Dao Manh Hong, former Squad Leader of Squad 1, Team 1, Naval Special Forces Regiment 126 (now Naval Special Forces Brigade 126) and Mr. Le Van Tan, former Truong Sa Island Chief from 1975 to 1987; listening to the sharing of fisherman Tran Di (Binh Dinh province) who was saved by doctors and nurses in Truong Sa during a sea trip.

In the program, the audience witnessed the reunion of Nguyen Ngoc Truong Xuan's family (who had a cesarean section in Truong Sa in 2011) with Master, Doctor Ho Xuan Lang - Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Khanh Hoa General Hospital - who performed the cesarean section on Nguyen Ngoc Truong Xuan. At the same time, the audience watched television reports about the mission of liberating Truong Sa 50 years ago; the process of building and protecting the sovereignty of Truong Sa sea and islands; the changing appearance of Truong Sa today.
