The trio of Rafaelson, Hendrio, and Van Toan took turns scoring goals, helping Coach Vu Hong Viet's team solidify their top position with 19 points after 8 rounds. As for The Cong-Viettel, the team under new coach Thomas Dooley has fallen into the bottom four with only 8 points.
Round 8 also marked the first wins of the new season for two clubs, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
While Tran Dinh Tien scored the only goal in the 67th minute to help the team from Hong Mountain leave Thong Nhat Stadium against Ho Chi Minh City FC with a full three points, at their home ground in Pleiku, two goals from A Hoang and Jhon Cley gave LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai a surprising 2-0 victory over Hanoi FC.
As a result, Hoang Anh Gia Lai ended their eight-match winless streak since the start of the 2023/24 season (including seven matches in the V-League). However, the team from Pleiku still ranked last after round 8 with 5 points.
In the remaining matches, a single goal from defender Mai Sỹ Hoàng in the 82nd minute secured a victory for the visiting Sông Lam Nghệ An team at the 19/8 Nha Trang stadium against the home team Khách Hòa.
