Reached over 100 countries

On August 31, 2024, Trang flew to Bahrain, completing the milestone of exploring 100 countries. Bahrain is only 40 minutes by plane from Dubai (UAE) - where Trang lives and works.

“I went to Bahrain in the morning and returned to Dubai in the evening to complete my ' travel KPI'. In my younger years, I often had many quick trips like this, ready to go to a new country in just 1 or 2 days,” she shared.

Moving into 2025, she continued to Croatia, bringing the total number of countries she visited to 101.

The dream of traveling around the world has been burning in Huyen Trang's heart since she was a child. At the age of 19, she first "went abroad" during a student exchange trip to Macau (China). The new experiences here became the motivation for her to continue improving her foreign language skills and looking for opportunities to conquer new lands.

Two years later, after passing a rigorous selection process, Huyen Trang became a flight attendant for Emirates (UAE). The unique job gives her the opportunity to visit many countries. With about 30 days off each year, she always plans to divide her vacation into small parts to visit family or travel.

“The more I travel, the more I see how big the world is and how small I am,” she shared.

“When I was young, I prioritized trips to experience and explore local life, even though sometimes it was more difficult than going to work. Later, when I have more conditions, I will return to my favorite places to relax,” she added.

Trang usually spends about 4-5 days at each destination. However, there are also “super short” trips, such as a 1.5-day journey to explore Egypt.

It was a completely unexpected trip, without any prior planning. Right after finishing a nearly 20-hour flight from New Zealand to Dubai, two close colleagues invited her to take a few days off, get a visa and fly to Egypt - a place only about 3 hours away from Dubai.

"Because I didn't have much time, I booked a day tour, went to see the pyramids, the museum, and stayed overnight. The trip was quick, but I was captivated by the antiquity and mystery of Egypt. I will definitely come back soon," she said.

Not only visiting developed countries, she also explored many destinations in Africa such as Zanzibar Island (Tanzania), or the capital Accra of Ghana, to learn about local life and culture.

Slow travel with parents

Huyen Trang shared that since reaching the milestone of 101 countries, she is no longer in a hurry to conquer new lands but wants to explore more thoroughly and deeply the places she has been to.

In particular, she wants to go home more often and spend time taking her parents on trips. With experience traveling to 101 countries, Trang has become her parents' "all-knowing tour guide".

For more than 3 years, she has taken her parents on trips to several provinces and cities in the country and 10 other countries. "My parents have been divorced for 15 years. Before, when I went to Dubai to work, my parents also came to visit but usually went separately," Trang said.

"Over time, my parents have overcome the stressful period and now consider each other as friends. When I asked them to travel with me - perhaps because they loved their daughter and didn't want me to feel sorry for myself, they agreed. Now, the trips together have become familiar and my parents enjoy them more comfortably," she said.

Every trip with her parents is a memorable memory for Huyen Trang.

In early April, she took her parents to Dubai (UAE) for a vacation. There, her parents attended her graduation ceremony as a deputy flight attendant at Emirates Airlines.

“At my first graduation 11 years ago, I was alone. This time, with my parents by my side, I am much happier,” she emotionally shared.

At the end of August, Huyen Trang continued to take her parents to explore 5 European countries: Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France and the Czech Republic. She celebrated her birthday in Paris, with her loved ones. It has been a long time since the 32-year-old girl had such a warm birthday, after many years of being busy with work or alone in a foreign land.

“Now I realize that the happiest and most memorable trips are when my family is with me. I will continue to take my parents to many places so that the whole family can explore this big world together,” she confided.

Trang's parents happily filmed a clip celebrating their daughter's birthday in Paris.

An elderly man said something before leaving the plane in Da Lat that left the flight attendant 'frozen'. An elderly passenger still makes the male flight attendant remember him to this day, but it's a sad story.
