No phone helps study better
It is known that in previous school years, Truong Chinh High School (District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) had a regulation prohibiting students from using phones on campus. However, from the 2023-2024 school year, this regulation will be implemented more strictly and thoroughly by the school.
The school currently has about 2,580 students with 57 classes. During the 25-minute break between classes, the school yard becomes bustling with many activities that the students build and enthusiastically participate in.
Some of you will participate in music clubs, modern dance clubs. Others will play shuttlecock, badminton, volleyball, basketball… or review homework and chat with friends.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuoc - Vice Principal of Truong Chinh High School, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City - said that the school recognized that students interacted with friends and teachers, focused more on studying, and achieved good academic results.
"The implementation of this regulation in the 2023-2024 school year has been widely supported by parents. After a period of implementation, students have better habits and compliance. In particular, during recess, students focus more on the yard and increase physical activity and sports .
Banning cell phones does not mean banning students from bringing them to school. During class, if necessary, the school will still allow students to use their cell phones to look up information according to the teacher's lesson plan.
In addition, the school also has a separate area for students to contact their parents or book a ride-hailing service at the end of the day," said Mr. Phuoc.

Beautiful memories of school days
Trinh Le Quoc Trieu (student of class 11B14) said that usually he and his friends play badminton, study together, make better homework plans and understand each other better.
"We are not dependent on phones, so friends, teachers and family have more opportunities to interact with each other. I use my phone in a planned way. Before going to school, I use it to check my school notifications, and after school, I use it to look up homework and research documents. On average, I only use my phone for 1-2 hours a day," Trieu confided.
Pham Nguyen Quynh Anh (student of class 12C12) shared: "During recess, the clubs will go down to the field to perform for everyone. In addition, we can play with friends, sit and chat with each other to relieve stress after school.
Without phones, we can talk to each other, create beautiful memories of our school days, participate in activities and spend more time studying."
