'What could be more beautiful?' is a fresh take on the melody of 'Floating Water Lilies and Drifting Clouds'.

Unlike Nguyen Hung's simple and rustic version, the music video for "What Could Be More Beautiful?" begins with the gentle, peaceful melodies of the folk song "Floating Water Lilies and Drifting Clouds," leading the audience through a range of emotions.

Inspired by the film "Red Rain," the song "What Could Be More Beautiful," composed and performed by musician-singer Nguyen Hung, quickly became a musical phenomenon, especially during the A80 Grand Celebration.

On October 26th, the music video "What Could Be More Beautiful?" performed by singers Trieu Hong Ngoc and Tran Tuan Hoa was released to the public to continue spreading love for the homeland.

Sharing his thoughts on this musical product, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, representative of Tomchat Music Space – the production unit – said that the music video "What Could Be More Beautiful?" was created as a tribute and a continuation of the spirit of A80, the proud 80th anniversary of the nation. Although the event has ended, that spirit remains present and spreads among every Vietnamese person.

Composer Vu Quang Trung, who was responsible for the arrangement of "What Could Be More Beautiful," said that his initial idea when he started arranging the music was to tell a historical story, encapsulated in five minutes of the piece, through the language of music.

He divided the story into three parts. Part 1 depicts the peaceful scenery of a Northern Vietnamese village with folk melodies. Part 2 expresses patriotism, sacrifice, and struggle with the rhythm of strings and drums. Part 3 celebrates peace, combining images of children with the musical style of an orchestra.

Singers Tran Tuan Hoa and Trieu Hong Ngoc possess two distinct musical styles. While Tran Tuan Hoa, a graduate of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, sings in an academic style, Trieu Hong Ngoc, who rose to fame in the 2000s, is a versatile singer capable of performing in diverse genres, and can excel in pop/rock...

Singer Trieu Hong Ngoc said she was moved when she heard Nguyen Hung's song.

"Music helps us connect with history through emotion. When singing about war, I don't just want to recount the pain or the victories, but also to evoke the belief that love for one's country is the thread connecting the past with the present, helping us live more beautifully and meaningfully today," Trieu Hong Ngoc expressed.

Meanwhile, singer Tran Tuan Hoa said that his father was a veteran. He told his son many brutal stories of war that those born in peacetime could hardly imagine.

“The price of peace is the blood and bones of our forefathers, those who silently sacrificed themselves so that we could have the life we have today. When singing 'What Could Be More Beautiful?', there were parts I had to stop because I was so moved. I hope that when people listen to this song again, everyone, especially the younger generation, will feel the love for their homeland in a truly natural way,” Tran Tuan Hoa shared.
