Ho Chi Minh City police have just busted a ring producing and trading fake perfumes of famous brands, seizing nearly 20,000 bottles of illegal goods and many related exhibits.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Public Security on the peak of the fight against counterfeit goods and commercial fraud, the Economic Police Department (PC03) has established a special project to fight against a group of subjects led by Nguyen Ngoc Tho (40 years old) and Truong Thi Mai Hien (41 years old).

According to the investigation, since the beginning of 2024, Tho, Director of Nguyen Huong Development Production Trading Company Limited (Tam Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and his wife organized the production of fake perfumes of brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Burberry, Dior... The two subjects rented a workshop on Cay Keo Street (Tam Binh Ward), bought machines, raw materials and fake bottles to mix, extract, label and distribute goods through social networks, online groups and express delivery services.

Three working groups of PC03 simultaneously searched the company’s office, warehouse and factory, seizing nearly 20,000 bottles of counterfeit perfume, along with many production equipment, labels, printers, and stamping machines. The authorities estimated the value of the illegal profits from the goods to be over 15 billion VND.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police have prosecuted 11 suspects to investigate the acts of producing and trading counterfeit goods, tax evasion and related violations, ensuring strict handling according to the law.
