The play “Nguyen Viet Xuan” by Hong Mac Cat praises Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Xuan and the communist soldiers, “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the resistance war against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists. Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Xuan was born in 1933 in Ngu Kien commune, Vinh Tuong district. He was a communist soldier with an indomitable spirit, patriotism, and hatred for the enemy. His command “Aim straight at the enemy, shoot!” became the command of the entire army. Nguyen Viet Xuan fought bravely and sacrificed himself at the Western Quang Binh front on November 18, 1964.
