Phu Thuy Ward Union aims to establish 5 new grassroots unions

On October 30, Phu Thuy Ward Trade Union held the 1st Ward Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Attending were comrade Nguyen Phu Hoang, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation; and 90 delegates representing 4,026 union members of the entire ward.

Cultural performance to welcome the Congress

Phu Thuy Ward Union was established after merging Phu Hai, Phu Thuy and Thanh Hai wards. It currently has 4,026 union members operating in 39 grassroots unions and trade unions (including 12 public service units and 17 non-state enterprises). During the past term, grassroots unions in the area have continuously innovated their methods of operation, proactively performed their functions of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

Up to now, 7/10 enterprises have signed and effectively implemented collective labor agreements, with many provisions beneficial to employees. Every year, the ward union organizes practical care activities such as visiting and providing subsidies to union members in difficulty, organizing "Union meals" for more than 2,000 union members; at the same time, actively responding to emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Building strong grassroots unions", "Good at public work, good at housework", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene"...

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress approved the direction and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term. In particular, Phu Thuy Ward Union set a goal of establishing 5 grassroots unions in the non-state sector and the informal sector; recruiting over 500 new union members, striving to have at least 70 enterprises negotiate and sign collective labor agreements.

Every year, each grassroots union recommends at least one outstanding union member for consideration of Party membership. The Congress also set a target of 75% of female union members achieving the title of “Good at public work, good at housework” and 60% of union members and workers receiving training to improve their professional qualifications, job skills and industrial style.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Phu Hoang, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, praised the achievements of Phu Thuy Ward Trade Union in the past term. He suggested that in the coming term, the Ward Trade Union should closely follow the Party's leadership, effectively implement the resolutions of the higher-level trade unions, continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, and at the same time promote practical emulation movements in agencies, units and enterprises.

The ward trade union is also required to focus on developing grassroots trade union organizations at enterprises, improving the quality of union members, improving working conditions, building a safe and civilized working environment; paying attention to organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities, creating a healthy playground, contributing to improving productivity and labor quality.

Phu Thuy Ward Trade Union Executive Committee introduced to the Congress

The Congress announced the decision of the Standing Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation to appoint an Executive Committee of 10 comrades, the Standing Committee, the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Phu Thuy Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term. Comrade Thai Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Phu Thuy Ward Trade Union for the new term.
