Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 5 (Kajiki), Thanh Hoa Electricity Company has upgraded its response level to the highest level, mobilizing all forces, means, and materials, determined to ensure grid safety and maintain continuous power supply for key loads.

On August 25, Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa) held an urgent meeting to deploy solutions to respond to storm No. 5 (Kajiki). The content focused on reviewing all response plans, consolidating human resources, materials and equipment, and being ready to handle all situations.

Implementing the Prime Minister 's telegram, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC), Thanh Hoa PC has activated the highest level of the disaster prevention and control and search and rescue plan (PCTT&TKCN). The company assigned specific tasks to each unit, thoroughly implementing the "4 on-site" motto: command, force, materials and logistics and upholding the principle: putting labor safety first.

Mr. Hoang Hai - Director of PC Thanh Hoa requested the departments, functional departments and affiliated units to ensure 100% of the staff on duty from 5:00 p.m. on August 24 until the storm dissipates according to the Company's previously issued dispatch; regularly update the plan, focusing on key areas prone to flooding and landslides; make a list of shock troops, check the reserve supply warehouse and be ready to coordinate resources.

Along with that, promote propaganda about electrical safety, advise people to proactively prevent accidents; strictly manage information channels, quickly interact with customers; maintain smooth communication with the Control Center. At the same time, prioritize stable power supply for hospitals, disaster prevention command agencies, irrigation units, coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle incidents.

Also on August 25, the EVN working group led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang - Deputy Head of the Technical Safety Department worked with Thanh Hoa Power Company. The group requested the unit to closely follow the reality, not to be subjective, to strengthen inspections of key areas, to prepare scenarios for handling incidents, to maintain power for essential loads and to quickly and accurately report damage immediately after the storm. After the working session, the group inspected some coastal areas and acknowledged the proactiveness and determination of Thanh Hoa Power Company.

Director Hoang Hai and the PC Thanh Hoa delegation inspected the preparations as well as encouraged and visited the staff of the affiliated units who are participating in responding to storm No. 5.

In parallel, PC Thanh Hoa has also established working groups directly led by the Company's leadership at the facility, inspecting the on-duty work at key locations and encouraging staff to stay on site. The Company's leadership affirmed that it will ensure adequate logistics and facilities so that workers can feel secure in their duties and maintain the power supply during storms.

Previously, on August 24, a working delegation of EVNNPC led by Deputy General Director Vu Anh Phuong inspected the preparation work at a number of units. Mr. Vu Anh Phuong highly appreciated the proactiveness, sense of responsibility and close coordination of Thanh Hoa PC.

As of 5:30 p.m. on August 26, the province recorded 42 power lines with problems and 2,128 transformer stations without power, affecting nearly 250,000 customers.

Workers of the Hac Thanh Area Power Management Team (Thanh Hoa PC) fix problems caused by storm No. 5 on the night of August 25, 2025 after the storm dissipated.

Following the direction of the Director of Thanh Hoa PC, currently, the affiliated units are focusing on human resources, actively and urgently zoning the incident, isolating unsafe areas, and at the same time mobilizing maximum means and materials to gradually restore power supply, in which priority is given to restoring power to key loads, while coordinating with local authorities to quickly handle vulnerable points. It is expected that tonight, Thanh Hoa PC will initially restore the medium voltage grid step by step, then restore power to customers in safe areas after the storm has passed.

With the spirit of proactiveness, urgency, safety and efficiency, PC Thanh Hoa is determined to protect, make efforts to overcome incidents, ensure power supply to serve people's lives and production and business activities in the area.
