A female nurse from Nghe An province performed rapid CPR to save a tourist who had a cardiac arrest in the middle of Hoa Lu ancient town.

At around 10pm on August 2, while visiting Hoa Lu ancient town, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Hoa saw many people gathered in a crowd, shouting on the street. Ms. Hoa approached and saw an unconscious tourist lying on the ground.

Immediately, with a sense of responsibility, skills, and experience as a medical staff, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Hoa approached the victim. Upon checking, she found that the victim had lost her femoral and carotid pulses. Ms. Hoa quickly performed external cardiac compressions to save the patient.

With skillful techniques, calmness and determination, Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Hoa helped the victim restore circulation, thereby saving the victim's life before local medical forces arrived to respond.

Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Hoa shared: I am a medical staff (18 years of working experience, 5 years at the Poison Control Department, Nghe An General Hospital), and have participated in emergency treatment for many patients at the department, so I am very confident in performing emergency treatment for patients.

As soon as she saw the patient unconscious, Ms. Hoa's first thought was to check the patient's condition and find a way to save their life. Only after the patient regained a pulse and consciousness and the local ambulance arrived did she leave.
